Trump Reportedly Orders Special Forces to Draft Plan for Greenland Invasion

U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly ordered commanders of the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) to prepare a plan for a potential invasion of Greenland, but is facing strong resistance from senior military leaders, according to the Daily Mail.

Sources say that figures close to the U.S. president, led by political adviser Stephen Miller, have been emboldened by what they view as the success of an operation targeting Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro. They are now urging swift action to seize Greenland before Russia or China make a move.

However, the plan has reportedly been opposed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who argue that such an operation would be illegal and would not receive support from Congress.

British diplomats are said to have prepared a war-game scenario described as an “escalation model,” in which Trump would use military force or political pressure to sever Greenland’s ties with Denmark.

Trump was quoted as saying:
“We will do something about Greenland, whether they like it or not, because if we don’t, Russia or China will take Greenland, and we cannot have Russia or China as our neighbor. I would prefer to make a deal the easy way, but if we don’t, we will do it the hard way.”
